Founder & CEO -- Big Kahuna
Max Pigman
Max began home brewing in 1999 and started Lewis & Clark in 2002. Born in Hamilton, MT, Max embraces the recreational activities that make Montana so wonderful: mountain biking, hiking, fishing, golfing, and soaking in hot springs. Max also loves live music and that is most certainly reflected in the Lewis & Clark Tap Room’s live music lineup. One of his favorite shows has been Cody Canada and The Departed. If you see Max enjoying live music at the Tap Room he will most likely have a Brewer's H20 or Juicy ObSession in hand. Max credits his wife Karen for his success. Max says, “Karen has been my rock, my lover, and my best friend for over 35 years.”

Head Brewer
Sean Tobin
Sean has been with Lewis & Clark since September 2010. Over the past years, Sean has brewed a lot of beer including his favorite Pompey's Pilsner. His favorite thing about LC is the people and working with people who are proud of the product that they are producing. When Sean isn't working you might find him enjoying a live show, like Yarn one of his personal favorites he has seen at LC. And if there's snow on the ground it's a guarantee Sean will be on the slopes skiing.

Beer Ambassador
Garry Hicks
Garry our resident golf pro ( on the simulator) has been with Lewis & Clark since 2010. When Garry isn't helping out around Lewis & Clark he is most likely enjoying a sporting event, live music, or traveling somewhere with warm weather.

Director of Operations
Mike Scott
Mike has been part of the Lewis & Clark crew since 2018. Mike brewed his first batch of beer in 2009 and went pro in 2013. Mike hails from the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. His favorite thing about working at LC is working with a great crew and enjoying a Juicy ObSession while hanging out with the crew after work. When not at LC Mike enjoys bird hunting with a good pointing dog.

Director of Sales
Danya Bonner
Danya has been with the Lewis and Clark crew since 2017. If you want to know about beer, Danya knows about beer! Her favorite Lewis & Clark Beer is the Tumbleweed IPA. If you see her out fishing on the river, when she's not traveling all over the state, she’s likely to have a tall Busch Latte nearby and her three yellow labs!

Casey Brown
Casey joined the Lewis & Clark crew in 2022. When he's not traveling the great state of Montana or Idaho you can find him drinking a Mexican Lager or enjoying a sports game or the outdoors. If Casey is in charge of playing music in the office, he will most likely be playing Teddy Swims.

Lead Brewer
Jayce Hancock
Jayce has been part of the Lewis & Clark Crew since 2019. Jayce has over five years of brewing experience and hails from the great state of Oklahoma. His favorite thing about working at LC is being able to enjoy the outdoors during summer shows. If you ever see Jayce enjoying a brew at the Tap Room, he is most likely drinking a Prickly Pear or Mexican Lager -- and if he's not at Lewis & Clark he's probably somewhere hunting or fishing.

Chris Basden
Chris joined the Lewis & Clark crew in 2021. Chris moved from Mason, Oklahoma to Helena, Montana to start his career in the brewery industry. Chris's favorite brew is the Oktoberfest, one of our Fall seasonals. If Chris is in charge of playing music, odds are you will be listening to some red dirt. Chris's favorite part of working at LC is attending live music like Cody Canada & The Departed and getting to be a part of music festivals like Gordy's Hwy 30 Music Fest. If Chris isn't on the brew deck, you can find him either hunting or fishing.

Shipping Manager
Heath Brown
Heath has been working at Lewis & Clark since 2014. When Heath isn't working you can find him enjoying a cold Juicy ObSession while golfing. His favorite thing about working at Lewis & Clark is well everything, it's like a giant family at LC. Heath is also a huge supporter of live music, one of his favorite shows he's seen at LC is Jon Wayne and The Pain and of course All Good Things.

Facilities Maintenance Technician
Don Wannebo
Don started his career at Lewis & Clark when it was Sleeping Giant Brewery and he was paid in BEER! Don works hard at the brewery fixing everything that needs fixing - somehow he just knows how to make everything work. So, on the weekends when he's not around the brewery he's relaxing, playing his tuba, drinking a Juicy ObSession, and watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail - all at the same time!

Packaging Supervisor
Dalton Garton
Dalton has been a part of the Lewis & Clark crew since 2020. Since then Dalton has enjoyed a lot of great music and beer here, but his two all-time favorites have been the Lewis & Clark Lager and All Good Things. When Dalton isn't working on the canning line he is most likely on the ice playing hockey. A fun fact about Dalton is he got married under a giant hockey goal.

Packing Technican
Kaitlynn Hersh
Kaitlynn joined the Lewis & Clark crew in 2022. Kaitlynn hails from the great state of Colorado. If Kaitlynn is playing music in the back you will most likely be enjoying some classic rock. When Kaitlynn isn't working on the canning line, she can be found doing Jeep things with her two dogs or enjoying a cold Hazy.

Heidi Obrien
Heidi has been part of the Lewis & Clark crew since 2019. Heidi loves working for a growing business, and her favorite part about working here is the staff and customers. Heidi has heard a lot of great live music in her time with LC, but one of her favorites has been Deer Tick. When Heidi is not working at LC you might find her enjoying a Hazy or on a hike with her dogs Billie and Geronimo.

Office Manager
Michelle Harvey
Michelle has been with Lewis & Clark since 2015. Michelle keeps us all in line and makes sure we get paychecks - she’s a popular gal! Her favorite thing about working here is the people. Over the past years, her favorite artist that has performed here was Buck Johnston from Aerosmith. When she's not working in the office you might find her enjoying a Brewer's H20 or some white wine -- and if it's the summer you can find her enjoying both of these beverages out by the lake.

Content Creator and Community Relations Coordinator
Emily Murgel
Emily has been with Lewis & Clark since 2019. While at first, she wasn't a huge beer fan she has been converted into a beer lover, her go-to is the Bird Dog Black Lager. Her favorite thing about working at LC is that no day is ever the same and talking with all of the customers and staff. Emily is a country music lover, so Tanner Usrey has been her all-time favorite show at LC. When she's not working you can probably find her in the Tap Room hanging out with her friends during trivia or bingo.

Greg Wiens
Greg has been with Lewis & Clark since 2017. Greg wears many different hats around Lewis & Clark. He does everything from booking live music, like one of his favorites Joyce From The Future to hosting trivia. Greg's job is never static, which is his favorite part about working at LC. Greg enjoys that no day is the same and that he always has the opportunity to learn something new. When Greg isn't wearing one of his many hats you can find him enjoying a Bird Dog Black Lager or Juicy ObSession.

Tap Room Assistant Manager & Arcade Wizard
Cody Rogstad
Cody has been with Lewis & Clark since 2018 and has helped on numerous projects. His most recent project has been working on the Lewis & Clarkade and restoring all of the arcade games, which has also been his most recent favorite part about working at LC. When he's not working in the game room you can find him enjoying either a Tumbleweed or Prickly Pear while listening to Hed P.E.

Catering Manager
Erin Green
Erin joined the Lewis & Clark crew in 2021. Erin helps organize all of the bar catering for private events and the Helena Civic Center to make sure everyone can enjoy a Lewis & Clark brew at almost any event. When Erin isn't working behind the bar or at a catering she is most likely enjoying a country concert, traveling, or spending time with her pups outdoors.
