Lewis & Clark Brewers are always hard at work finding new ways to brew beer in the most sustainable way. We have implemented the Earthly Labs CiCi unit. Why? CiCi, allows us to capture the gas waste that is a natural byproduct of fermentation. Rather than the CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere, it is captured and reused in the brewery’s cellars and packaging operations.
Since April 2020, Lewis & Clark has been using the CO2 recapturing Technology which is a small-scale carbon capture solution that was specifically designed for breweries and carbonated beverages.
With the recaptured CO2 from the CiCi, we are able to reduce CO2 emissions, avoid pandemic-related CO2 shortages, and increase the safety of our staff.
The CO2 that is created naturally during the fermentation of our beer, is a pure form of naturally occurring CO2. The CiCi system also removes the oxygen, moisture, acid gases, and volatile organic compounds making our CO2 cleaner than beverage grade CO2.
Since implementing Earthly Labs into our brewing process we have saved thousands of pounds of CO2 from going into the atmosphere.
Good tasting beer and sustainability are two things that Lewis & Clark cares deeply about. We are excited to continue this process and incorporate newer technologies that allow us to do what we love, brewing beer, while simultaneously helping the environment.
